Logo Monart

EYES Series

An eye for optical theory, Memory of the future

The title comes from the album “An Eye For A Difference” by the London Saxophonic, and originally composed by Michael Nyman. What could be more magical than an epic piece of music to tell the story of disruptive evolution from film cameras to digital? The title of this piece sums up my feeling perfectly : Each piece of equipment has shaped its theory and each eye has made the difference.

Eyes

OCEAN PRISM Series

Présence and sensory, Meditative circle

Somewhere between James Turrell’s luminous forms and Sonia Delaunais’ circles, are the Ocean Prisms by Nadia Rabhi. An image with a meditative function, they are elaborated with a view to self reflection and contemplation. The circle as the physical and sensory presence and the prism as the metaphor for the human cornea. Overall, an allegory for rebirth.
